OH GOD THE LIGHTING. You guys, this was a really really really really dark movie. Like. Most of it takes place between the hours of around 11PM and 4AM, so scraping out visible icons was a chore. And I thought I'd told myself never to icon horror films again...

THAT SAID, I also think this movie deserves far far far more than its 5.9 on IMDB. It wasn't stellar, but the more I think back, the more I liked it: it had an atmosphere which was properly unnerving, eerie, and just--empty and simple and isolated. I loved the two leads, their banter, and their dynamic. Things fall apart a bit in the last third, but it has some original ideas and there's one particular event which I think is amazing that I want to talk about BUT IT'S A SPOILER so I won't. Mostly, I liked this for the character development and the way they subtly grow on you (and they don't even have names!), and the non-torture porn nature of the scares. Which is refreshing!

Also, the opening scenes take place on my campus. That was a pleasant surprise.

Hey, did I mention HOW DARK AND BLUE this movie was? So blue. So blue. So blue. To give you an indication of the difference going on here, THIS turned into THIS. But whatever, I'm done with my essay and can therefore reward myself with late-night iconing~

Props to omystarling for making me aware of this adorable adorable guy. I also don't know if I'm the only one who sees this, but I'm totally seeing younger Jamie Bamber. Maybe that is why I'm loving his face so much, idk. I DIDN'T NOTICE IT UNTIL JUST NOW.

also he seriously makes the perfect Remus oh my god

also I refuse to believe that he is 32. He looks SO YOUNG. also also more icons will probably come along... eventually.
